Large thick quarto (12.5 by 9.5 inches) not dated but circa 1900 (eighteenth edition) illustrated with 8 very attractive coloured plates each with an accompanying leaf of text, red cloth covers with coloured illustration on front cover, 9 cord pulls, each with an ivory toggle, which produce animal sounds when pulled (all are working), corners and spine a bit worn.

A rare toy book, complete and in working order but offered cheaply as there are a few biro marks in the blank margins of three text leaves and a few faint crayon marks on the title and two other text leaves and some marginal thumbing.
