A large portfolio with 14 engraved plates (20 by 15 inches overall) no date but circa 1920, printed on vellum and taken from the famous paintings by Francis Wheatley depicting the Cries of London.

Each plate signed in pencil by the engraver, usually E Jackson Stodart and all in excellent condition apart from very minor crinkling. There are thirteen plates in the series and one plate is here in two versions.

All the plates with individual card mounts decorated with wash line borders, the whole contained in a green cloth portfolio. Covers rather worn, contents fine and clean. A rare and complete set of this famous series of prints.
