An early work on America and the Caribbean colonies.Small octavo 14 by 9.5 cms. (5.5 by 3.75 inches) The text runs to 192 pages and the first 124 pages deal with the Caribbean islands, mainly Jamaica and Barbados with brief sections on the smaller islands. Pages 125 to 192 cover Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, New York, New England and Newfoundland It's bound in old full sprinkled calf with a panelled spine. Note that it's offered at a very low price as it lacks the three folding maps. Very rare. Two complete copies sold at auction in 2014 and 2016 for $16,000.00 and $10,000.00 respectively. I have not been able to trace any other more recent auction records-the last one being 1991 for $6000.00 Top half of front joint beginning to split, lettering label slightly chipped, old small split to the front cover
